MOVING Project - Carob Flour production in Crete

MOVING was an EU Horizon 2020 project that aimed to build capacities and co-develop relevant policy frameworks across Europe to support the establishment of new or upgraded/upscaled value chains that contribute to the resilience and sustainability of mountain areas. The project engaged value chain actors, stakeholders, and policymakers in a total of 23 European mountain regions in 15 countries. This Policy Brief presents the Central Rethymno, a semi-mountainous region of Crete, (Greece) and its challenges on the Carob Flour value chain. It also focuses on the main policy recommendations on carob flour production on how to support local economic development.
