Agricultural pilot schemes: a solution to the generational transition in farming

Agricultural pilot schemes promote generational renewal in the agricultural sector by facilitating the entry of new operators, particularly those who are not heirs. They contribute to rural sustainability by addressing the ageing of the rural population, inequality in land distribution and the loss of biodiversity. In Spain, organic farming exceeded 2.4 million hectares in 2018, with growth of 170% over a decade.
