Presentation at the conference on agricultural test sites

On 12 December 2024, the PAC Network organised a conference in Betxí (Castellón) on “Agricultural Trial Schemes”, a support tool designed to help new farmers with little experience get started. Under this “trial” scheme, participants carry out their farming activities independently and on a full-scale basis for a limited period. They can then choose to continue with or abandon the project, once it has been verified whether or not it was suitable for their circumstances or those of the market. For the “space”, shared governance is required, whereby a promoting entity leads the process of structuring the physical, legal and comprehensive support required by each agricultural test space. Among these territorial entities, agricultural cooperatives, Local Action Groups and local authorities, primarily town councils, play a key role.
