The crisis surrounding generational renewal is a recurring issue. There is an urgent need to work towards creating new tools that foster generational renewal, particularly amongst new entrants to the agricultural and forestry sectors. An Innovation Project has been proposed, based on the GO RETA initiative, which aims to develop innovative tools such as Agricultural Test Sites, with the aim of further developing their methodology and role as a means of rejuvenating the agricultural workforce and incorporating innovative ideas into business models. The experiences to date in Spain regarding Agricultural Test Areas are very scattered; they lack any data collection methodology and are not adequately systematised. Furthermore, from a scientific point of view, there is no comprehensive research on how an Agricultural Test Area is defined, what it entails and what impact it has.
