Design of Measurement Setup for Albedo Impact on Agrivoltaic Energy Yield

Ground-mounted agrivoltaic systems with white ground cloths can boost annual energy yield by up to 2.5% through enhanced albedo reflection. This study by KU Leuven, funded under Horizon 2020 (grant no. 101000828), compares fixed vertical bifacial and single-axis tracking configurations. Three-row setups with white, black, and grass-covered ground surfaces were tested using irradiance sensors on both module sides. Results confirm that white ground covers significantly improve energy output in fixed vertical systems, validating earlier findings from tracking systems.
