Design of Measurement Setup to Evaluate Albedo Impact on Agrivoltaic Energy Yield
Measurement setup to evaluate albedo impact on agrivoltaic energy yield in fixed and tracking configurations
or
Detail description
Ground-mounted agrivoltaic systems on arable land create non-agricultural strips requiring buffer zones. KU Leuven developed a measurement setup to evaluate albedo effects on energy yield using white, black, and grass-covered surfaces in fixed vertical bifacial and single-axis tracking configurations. Pyranometers on both sides of modules measure irradiance differences. Initial literature suggests a 2.5% annual yield increase with white covers in tracking systems; this study verifies that effect in fixed bifacial setups. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.
