PoirOAD: Monitor and guide the nutrition of the Normand leek and its quality through the implementation of innovative diagnostic tools
About project
The objective of the project is to work on the sustainable management of nutrients in leek cultivation and to offer producers tools to manage the nutrition of this crop, for which Normandy is the leading French producer region. These precision farming-based tools will improve the environmental and economic performance of vegetable farms by spreading the right input dose in the right place and at the right time, thereby promoting productivity.

Activity Report: Improving Nutrition and Leek Quality
DocumentNov 11, 2022-- Philippe D’HOOGHE
The PoirOAD project tested innovative tools for fertilizing Normandy leeks. The X-ray fluorometerallowed monitoring of fertilization in P, K, S, and trace elements, while the near-infrared spectrometer quantified nitrogen content. These technologies optimized nutrient management, improving leek yields and quality.
