About project

The main goal of the "French Pecan" project is to adapt arboriculture to climate change, and to mitigate the latter, by combining agroforestry and organic pecan trees in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France. From 2022 to 2023, the first phase of the project (known as the emergence phase), will allow: - The acquisition of technical and economic references on the cultivation of pecan trees in France - The elaboration of an experimentation program - The conduct of a market study - The improvement of post-harvest equipments (nut cracking) - The dissemination of knowledge to producers and stakeholders involved in the nut supply chain - The promotion of the project's initiatives
