Collective forage dryer using biogas heat

Dairy farms use heat from a collective biogas digester to dry high-protein forage, improving protein self-sufficiency and reducing feed costs. Ten farms collaborate on harvesting 84 hectares of alfalfa, red clover, and multi-species grasslands, producing 190 tons of dry matter. Efficient scheduling and collective organization enhance forage quality and farm productivity, with benefits including improved animal health and soil cover through winter-sown cereals.
