Precision Sheep: Feeding, Farming, and Milk Quality Innovations

This project advances precision sheep farming through innovations in precision feeding and data-driven management. Key outcomes include improved fodder quality and quantity, enhanced milk yield and quality, and better reproductive performance in ewes. The field spectrophotometer enables rapid feed evaluation, while the "Precision Sheep" app—available on Google Play—supports decision-making for farmers and cooperatives. Designed as a decision support system, the app aids in data management and knowledge sharing across diverse production systems. These tools boost farm efficiency, economic sustainability, and climate resilience. Results have enabled continuation of innovation transfer via European initiatives such as Agromix H2020 and HE Codesc. Funded by the European Union and made available through EU-FarmBook.
