Truffle Cultivation Against Climate Change and Rural Development

Truffle cultivation as a climate-resilient, sustainable agricultural model for rural development in Murcia

or

Detail description

Establishing and consolidating desert truffle (Tuber melanosporum) cultivation as an innovative, climate-resilient, ecological farming alternative in the Region of Murcia. The project promotes sustainable agriculture in rainfed, low-productivity areas using native, non-invasive species, with no need for fertilisers or phytosanitary products. It includes truffle plantation across three distinct climatic and soil conditions, training in cultivation, commercialisation, entrepreneurship, and micotourism. The initiative supports rural development and enhances regional truffle consumption, contributing to climate change adaptation and local economic revitalisation.
