Ficha Estrategias para reducir la excreción de nitrógeno en terneros de engorde
Reducing crude protein in beef cattle diets lowers nitrogen excretion and feed costs while maintaining growth performance
or
Detail description
Reduced crude protein in finishing beef cattle diets lowers nitrogen excretion by 10% per 1% reduction in crude protein without compromising growth or feed efficiency. Controlled trials assessed nitrogen excretion, ruminal fermentation, and performance; field validation confirmed effectiveness across diverse systems. Results show a €7.30 per animal profit increase due to reduced feed costs, with a 1.5% reduction in overall production costs. Project funded under the 2015 call for innovative pilot projects, concluded September 2017.
