Food Loss and Waste Cooperation in European Projects
Sister Projects collaboration on food loss and waste reduction in Europe
or
Detail description
The FOODRUS project collaborates with four key European initiatives—LOWINFOOD, FAIRCHAIN, CO-FRESH, and PLOUTOS—forming the 'Sister Projects' network to address food loss and waste. Through coordinated efforts, including shared databases, thematic working groups, and over 60 joint meetings, the project advanced knowledge exchange and innovation. A central outcome is the Sustainable Food System Innovation Platform, an online repository of case studies and solutions. The collaboration, supported by a formal cooperation structure and funded under Horizon 2020 (grant No 101000617), enhanced impact across food value chains in Spain, Denmark, and Slovakia.
