MOVING Project: Enhancing Resilience in Mountain Olive Groves

Organic olive oil value chains in mountainous protected areas like the Sierras Subbéticas Cordobesas, Spain, integrate conservation and economic resilience. This practice abstract examines sustainable production systems within the MOVING project, highlighting collaboration between farmers, natural park authorities, and stakeholders to enhance ecosystem services, reduce erosion and wildfire risks, and valorise by-products such as alperujo and olive leaves. The project supports low-input, high-biodiversity olive groves through innovative agro-silvo-pastoral systems and circular economy practices.
