National and European Food Losses Registry information system structure (D1.1)

Deliverable D1.1 of the FOLOU project establishes a comprehensive information system for tracking and reporting food losses across national and European levels. It begins by outlining objectives and methodology, then describes the registry’s modular design: user profiling, farm details, commodity data, detailed food loss metrics, and an extrapolation framework to estimate total food loss. The document also covers SME classification criteria, financial opportunity modules, and the transition between national and European registries. Finally, it discusses implementation rationale, key challenges, and next steps for harmonising data and improving decision-making.
