Evaluation of Characteristics and Agronomic Potential of Simple Plant-Based Preparations for Low-Input Fruit, Vegetable, and Grapevine Production
The study evaluates simple plant-based preparations—infusions and decoctions of horsetail, wormwood, absinth, and white willow—for their antifungal properties and agronomic value in fruit, vegetable, and grape production to reduce pesticide inputs.

Descriere detaliată
This multidisciplinary project, titled “Plant Protection From Plants” (4P), investigates herbal preparations including infusions and decoctions from horsetail, common wormwood, absinth, white willow, and peppermint. Laboratory analyses assessed chemical composition, ecotoxicity, and fungistatic or fungicidal properties, while field trials on fruit, vegetable, and grape plots evaluated efficacy against pathogens such as mildew, oidium, and scab. The findings demonstrate significant protective effects, define Good Agricultural Practices, and support reduced copper use in vineyards and sulfur use in orchards. The work aligns with regulatory frameworks for low-risk natural preparations and EC Directive 128/2009, offering viable bio-control alternatives.
