Detail beschrijving

Milking, central task in dairy farming, affects productivity, working conditions and animal welfare. As herd sizes increase, technical choices become crucial. Despite the rise of robotisation, conventional milking remains predominant but suffers from a degree of strain, reducing its attractiveness. Studies show a wide diversity of installations and a growing mismatch between cow morphology and milking parlour ergonomics, leading to strenuous postures. The main difficulties involve cow flow, teat preparation, surface cleaning, and certain spatial layouts. A comprehensive approach integrating ergonomics, organisation, and technical support is needed to ensure sustainable and high-quality milking.
