Introduction of resilient grassland species and distinct cultivars

Among the new species commonly used in grasslands we include intergeneric hybrids Festulolium, as well as chicory, plantain, sainfoin and bird’s-foot trefoil. The main advantage of these species are their drought and heat tolerance, high palatability, lower demand for nutrients and contribution to soil fertility.

FACTSHEET NANOCELLULOSE MEMBRANES FOR NUTRIENT RECOVERY Key information Functionalized nanocellulose membranes can take up nitrate and phosphate. These membranes can be put in a water treatment unit. As the membranes are biobased, degradable materials, they can after use be added to the soil, thus returning the leached nutrients back for their original purpose providing fertilizers (nutrient recycling).
