Nutri2Cycle Midterm Practice Abstracts: Sustainable Fertilizer Solutions from Manure and Digestate

This midterm report from the EU-funded Nutri2Cycle project (Horizon 2020 grant No 773682) presents 16 practice abstracts on sustainable nutrient management in agriculture, covering innovations in manure, digestate, biochar, and biofertiliser use. Key topics include nutrient recovery from livestock waste, substitution of mineral fertilisers, circular economy applications, and consumer willingness to pay for sustainable food. Studies from Belgium, Croatia, Italy, and Poland demonstrate effective use of organic fertilisers in orchards, maize, and vineyards, with positive outcomes for crop productivity and environmental protection. Technologies include precision application, pyrolysis-based biofertilisers, and sensor-based zoning using ECap and NDVI.
