Strip cropping is generally regarded as a method for controlling pests and diseases by making it more difficult for them to spread. It is also possible to encourage natural predators by using crop rotation or flower strips. The downside of having all these different habitat types within a relatively small area is that it can sometimes attract pests such as slugs, mice and Colorado beetles.
