Sponsor a century-old olive tree in Aragon, Spain, through the EU-funded 'Apadrina un Olivo' project. For 50€, individuals from over 25 countries support sustainable agriculture, rural development, and ecological tourism. The initiative, managed by a local NGO, uses a mobile app and website with QR codes to track tree care, share updates, and promote local jobs. Over 5000 sponsors have contributed, helping restore a historic house and an oil mill, preserve traditional farming, and prevent school closure in Oliete (pop. 365). The project, launched September 2020, is of national interest and supports environmental conservation and community resilience.
