A PhD position is available at the University of Würzburg in Animal Ecology, focusing on reversing wild pollinator declines through the EU SAFEGUARD initiative. The project assesses pollinator status and trends across Europe, integrating field research, landscape ecology, and statistical analysis to develop regional conservation strategies. The role requires an MSc or Diploma in ecology, expertise in insect and landscape ecology, field research, insect identification, GIS, and statistical analysis (preferably in R), along with strong English language skills and a driver’s license. The three-year position, starting 1 October 2021, is based in the Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology, with salary according to TV-L 65%. The project involves collaboration across 25 European institutions.
