PoshBee Project: Bee Health and Pesticide Impact Research

PoshBee is a H2020 project investigating bee population declines through research on pesticide impacts, Varroa mite effects, and honey bee immunity. It involves field studies in Ireland, Germany, and Switzerland, lab analyses of wing morphology and fat body quality, and development of image recognition tools for monitoring brood and mortality. The project critiques EFSA’s pesticide risk assessments and supports policy recommendations through stakeholder engagement, newsletters, social media, and publications. It is part of the EIP-AGRI Focus Group and contributes to the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan.
