The difference between certified organic seed and untreated conventional seed

Organic seed production challenges and benefits for biennial crops in changing climates

or

Detail description

Organic farmers often overlook certified organic seed due to confusion with untreated conventional seed, despite its benefits: produced without chemicals, reducing residue risks. Biennial crops like carrots and leeks face high disease and weed pressure, lower yields, and climate-related challenges during overwintering, making suitable dry, well-ventilated organic seed-growing regions scarce. The Liveseed project promotes education to improve adoption of organic seed in European organic farming.
