Struvite as a sustainable phosphorus source for organic farming

Sustainable phosphorus recovery from wastewater for organic farming applications

or

Detail description

Struvite is a sustainable phosphorus fertiliser recovered from municipal wastewater, containing 28% P₂O₅, 5% N, and 10% Mg. It provides slow-release nutrients through solubilisation by root exudates or acidic conditions, reducing leaching and supporting long-term soil fertility. Ideal for organic agriculture, it is suitable for all crops and applied as 1–3 mm granules before or at sowing, preferably incorporated into soil. Low contaminant levels and high purity make it a key component of circular agriculture and nutrient recycling.
