Detail description
The SCANBALT BIOECONOMY WORKING GROUP KICK-OFF CONFERENCE, held on 21 October 2020, launched the South Baltic Bioeconomy Network (SBBN) under the BioBIGG project’s WP6. Organised by the Agency for Renewable Resources, the University of Greifswald, and ScanBalt, the online event brought together 52 participants, including 15 from the organising team, to advance cooperation among companies, regions, and clusters in the Baltic Sea Region. The event, supported by the European Regional Development Fund, featured presentations on legal and administrative frameworks for the bioeconomy, with findings from stakeholder interviews in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. Key topics included innovation, circular economy, policy challenges, public awareness, and standardisation. The conference highlighted the need for improved communication, stakeholder engagement, and practical implementation of bioeconomy solutions. Survey results revealed strong interest in knowledge exchange, product development, and innovative tenders. The next meeting is scheduled for late November/early December 2020.
