Bionanopolys Open Innovation Test Bed for Bio-Based Nanomaterials
Enabling sustainable innovation in bio-based nanomaterials and polymer nanocomposites across Europe
or
Detail description
Bionanopolys is an EU H2020-funded Open Innovation Test Bed advancing bio-based nanomaterials and polymer nanocomposites across the value chain. It unites 26 partners, including research institutions, universities, and industry leaders, offering 14 upgraded pilot lines, technical development, and transversal services to de-risk innovation. Key focus areas include sustainable packaging, functional food, textiles, 3D printing, and agricultural applications, with services in life cycle assessment, safety evaluation, and IP management. The project supports feasibility studies and technical validations via an open call, with free access for EU and associated country entities. An interactive online platform, launching in 2022, will provide access to facilities, pricing, and legal terms. Led by Graz University of Technology and ITENE, Bionanopolys drives the circular bioeconomy through scalable, sustainable technologies and industrial partnerships.
