or

Detail description

This report details the second-year activities of the SYSTEMIC project, a European H2020-funded initiative (grant No 730400) advancing circular economy and mineral recovery from organic waste. It covers construction, monitoring, and demonstration progress at five plants: Groot Zevert Vergisting (GZV), AM-Power, Acqua & Sole, RIKA Biofuels, and BENAS. Key milestones include the commissioning of the GENIUS and RePeat installations at GZV, operation of vacuum evaporators at AM-Power, and upgrades at BENAS for enhanced biogas and phosphorus recovery. Monitoring includes monthly NPK analysis, flow rate tracking, and biogas production data. The Green Mineral Mining Centre was officially opened in September 2019. The report, authored by Ghent University and submitted on 30 September 2019, is part of a four-year project led by WP1 and coordinated by Wageningen Environmental Research.
