Mineral Concentrates from Manure as NPK Fertiliser Alternative

Mineral concentrate from co-digested pig manure provides sustainable N/K/S fertiliser with high nitrogen use efficiency and reduced emissions when injected into grassland and arable soils.

or

Detail description

Mineral concentrate from co-digested pig manure contains 0.8% water-soluble ammonium nitrogen, 0.4% sulphur, and 0.4% potassium, with negligible phosphate. Produced via solid/liquid separation and reverse osmosis, it delivers at least 90% of nitrogen as fully soluble ammonium. Suitable for grassland and arable use, it reduces synthetic fertiliser use and transport-related emissions. Application by injection prevents ammonia loss, meeting Dutch and Flemish regulations. Nitrogen use efficiency matches synthetic fertilisers, but low N content (<1%) requires equipment adjustments. Blending may be needed for optimal nutrient ratios. Meets RENURE criteria if N-NH₄/TN >90% and TOC/TN <3.0 g/g. Not approved for organic farming. Funded by the EU Horizon 2020.
