Total autonomy through grazing and barn drying

Système d'alimentation autonome basé sur le pâturage tournant et le séchage en grange

or

Detail description

Farmers in Maine-et-Loire, France, have achieved full feed autonomy through daily rotational grazing, a 10-year-old hay-drying barn, fodder beets, and diverse grass-legume mixtures. Toasted fodder peas replace GMO soy, reducing costs and improving milk quality. The 155-hectare farm supports 80 Normande cows, producing 6,500 liters of milk annually with minimal fertilization. Emphasis on forage production and grassland trials ensures sustainability and economic resilience.
