Self-designed aerator for low-porosity peat-bog grasslands

Aeration solution for peat-bog grasslands using a self-designed disc-type aerator to improve forage yield and soil health

or

Detail description

To improve aeration in low-porosity peat and organic soils, a custom 3-meter-wide disc aerator was developed for post-harvest use in grasslands. Designed for 120 ha dairy farms with 160 cows producing 10,800 l milk per head annually, it penetrates 10–15 cm deep to enhance soil aeration, root development, and nutrient uptake. The innovation increases forage yield and quality by improving botanical composition and fertilizer efficiency, while reducing compaction and degradation. It supports sustainable grassland management and higher livestock productivity.
