Feeding system for dairy cows using pasture and hay from specialized drying sheds

High-quality hay and pasture feeding system using controlled drying technology and natural pasture renewal

or

Detail description

High-quality meadow hay and pasture feeding system at Juchowo Farm uses two-stage drying: initial field drying to 40% moisture, followed by artificial drying in specialized barns with air circulation from wood-burning stoves. This method preserves nutritional value, supports biodynamic standards, and enhances milk quality and cow health. Since 2009, dedicated drying sheds have improved hay yield and consistency, enabling 100% biodynamic milk production on a 1,700 ha farm with 350 dairy cows averaging 5,500 liters per cow annually. Pasture is rain-fed and periodically renewed with legumes and herbs.
