Barn Drying for High-Quality Milk and Fodder

Sustainable hay drying system boosts milk quality and reduces concentrate use on organic farm

or

Detail description

The barn hay drying system reduces concentrate use by 50% (from 1,000 kg to 500 kg per cow) while maintaining milk yield, supporting organic farming by cutting costs. It improves hay quality and reduces field losses through a four-compartment barn with an air-drying system using condensation and reheating. Located in Haute Ardenne, Belgium, the 132-cow organic Fleckvieh farm benefits from higher milk prices and a potential 7 euro cent per liter premium for cheese production.
