Dairy sheep grazing and regional product marketing in mountain farming

Sheep grazing on sloped terrain with rotational paddocks and on-farm milk processing

or

Detail description

The farm transitioned to organic sheep farming in 2011, managing 100 East Frisian dairy sheep across three paddocks with natural shade. Seasonal lambing reduces winter workload, and the farm supplements grazing with 5,000–6,000 kg of off-farm forage. On-site milk processing, vegetable and potato cultivation, and a farm shop support direct sales. Tourism integration includes guided tours and dining experiences. Successful grazing relies on adequate land, skilled pasture management, and continuous oversowing to establish a dense sward.
