Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) accessions from 28 countries were evaluated for resistance to southern anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum trifolii. Greenhouse trials with single-spore inoculation showed a mean survival rate of 23%, with only 10 accessions classified as resistant. Genotyping-by-sequencing produced 30,668 SNPs, 12,272 used in analysis. BLUPs and FarmCPU GWAS identified over ten SNPs significantly associated with resistance. Principal component analysis revealed genetic structure among accessions. These results support marker-assisted breeding for durable resistance, especially under climate change.
