Les élevages bovins diversifiés sont plus grands en Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Beef cattle farming systems in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: structure, ownership, and farm size by production type

or

Detail description

Diversified beef cattle farming systems in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes are larger in size and more likely to be corporate-owned than specialized systems. The region's beef cattle farms are categorized into four types: beef-dairy (30%), beef-mixed farming (13%), beef-sheep (7%), and specialized beef (50%). Diversified systems show higher corporate ownership (30–48%) and larger average farm sizes (84–99 ha) compared to specialized systems (20% corporate, 72 ha average). Data from the 2010 agricultural census and Inosys farm typology (2012) inform this regional typology of herbivore farming systems.
