Strip cultivation for sustainable bulb growing in the Bollenstreek

Strip cultivation supports sustainable bulb growing in the Bollenstreek by promoting biodiversity through herb-rich strips, crop rotation and natural pest control. The plan comprises a ten-year sustainable crop rotation programme for tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, carrots, gladioli, dahlias and speciality bulb crops, incorporating fallow crops and perennial flower strips. Focus on crop rotation, strip width, transition years and the 7 AEFI programme reduces fungal pressure and the use of plant protection products.
