Pilot to Policy and Practice: Recommendations for GLB Pilot Integration

Innovative agricultural practices are tested through pilots to enhance impact and scale knowledge. Key recommendations include designing policies with realistic themes, using EIP-modules or separate articles in the GLB regulation, ensuring flexibility, realistic planning, and iterative learning. Pilots should be grouped in thematic clusters of 4–8, each with a process facilitator and linked to policy bodies like GLB, supported by external project leaders. Active knowledge sharing is essential through joint learning sessions, reporting, and thematic integration, reinforced by working groups and learning circles. An experimental environment with clear goals, accessible resources, and structured evaluation is crucial. The Koeleproject 2.0 and planned publications in 2024–2025 highlight coordinated efforts between policy, practice, and research.
