Vergroening van waterrijke veenweidegebieden: Eindrapportage GLB-pilot
Sustainable dairy farming practices: grassland, ammonia, and grazing standards
or
Detail description
Sustainable dairy farming in the North-Holland/Utrecht peat meadow region focuses on soil, water, climate, and biodiversity. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) can support these goals through the new eco-regime (2023) and alignment with the ANLb. A pilot project explores three key areas: a comprehensive choice menu with point system for soil, water, and climate; establishing effective green-blue infrastructure at the polder level; and aligning sustainability incentives between the CAP and the dairy chain. Key requirements include 5–20% natural landscape, no glyphosate or phosphates, ammonia limits (80 kg/ha), nitrogen surplus capped at 150 kg/ha, and minimum 120 grazing days per year with 50–65% self-owned land. Programs like *Caring Dairy*, *WEIDE WEELDE*, and *EEN STER* set targets for wild grassland (5–20%), high-value land (5–10%), and bird-friendly areas (33% by 2025).
