BBTs Roadmap Implementation in Poland

Identification of priority bio-based technologies for Poland through regional stakeholder engagement and feasibility assessment

or

Detail description

The BBioNets project (GA No 101133904), funded by Horizon Europe (Cluster 6), supports the development of bio-based technologies (BBTs) in forestry and agriculture across six European regions, including Poland. The project, running from November 2023 to October 2026 and coordinated by Munster Technological University, establishes regional Forest and Agriculture Networks (FANS) to advance sustainable innovation. In Poland, five BBTs were prioritized: DE4-Lignocellulosic Biorefinery, PL74-Polish Apples, EL80-OLUHERB/OLIVE (adapted for local crops), EL82-COMPOST-INNO, and S51-GO IMECO, all targeting waste valorisation, soil regeneration, and carbon sequestration. These technologies align with EU and national priorities on food and energy security, circular economy principles, and regional stakeholder input. Implementation within five years is feasible, supported by the Polish Advisory Board.
