Sustainable farming in areas with challenging terrain that have been severely affected by depopulation
Use of two methodologies for the maintenance and management of the natural vegetation cover on the land to be worked on, located in Quiroga (Lugo) and Cangas del Narcea (south-west Asturias), where olive trees, vines and Narcea roses are grown.
Detail description
Use of two methodologies for the maintenance and management of the natural vegetation cover on the plots where work is to be carried out, located in Quiroga (Lugo) and Cangas del Narcea (south-west Asturias), where olive trees, vines and Narcea roses are grown.
To this end, a remote-controlled mowing robot will be used, along with sheep that have been specifically conditioned to avoid grapevines, olive trees and Narcea roses, to prevent them from feeding on plants of these three species and ensure they feed only on the vegetation covering the ground in the plots.
