Adoption of rotational grazing as a measure to mitigate drought and improve grassland use: Video

Innovative agriculture: elevating livestock management for sustainability

Detail description

Vargas Madera agricultural society manages approximately 965 hectares in the Valdogadiana Natural Park. Specializing in livestock, they primarily focus on ovine production of the native Campanista breed, maintaining around 2,000 adult families. Additionally, they have a smaller herd of Lentigiana cattle.

Since 2018, the organization has worked towards improving labor management by concentrating animals into larger groups, streamlining operations while maintaining productivity. The approach has yielded positive outcomes over the past five years.
