or

Detail description

EU forests covered 39% of EU land in 2021 (160 million hectares), up 8 million ha since 2000 and 2.5 million ha since 2010. Timber stocks reached 29 billion m³ (o.b.), a 31.2% increase since 2000, with 65% of net annual increment harvested. The sector contributed €25 billion GVA (€146/ha) and employed 473,100 people, down 16% from 2000. JRC raster data (100×100 m, reference year 2010) supports biomass potential and supply assessments.
