Detail description

Actors in the rural biomass supply chain—farmers, fishers, foresters, and bio-based industry operators—need targeted training and advisory support to adopt innovative, sustainable, and circular bio-based solutions. A survey of 400+ stakeholders across 13 EU countries and North Macedonia (March–June 2023) reveals high demand for advisory services, especially among food and bioenergy producers, with lower needs among biomaterials and aquaculture sectors. Training needs are highest among those with intermediate or advanced education. Stakeholders are encouraged to collaborate with educational institutions and form knowledge-sharing networks. The BioRural toolkit provides further resources. Funded by the European Union.
