Plant-Based Fertilizer and Natural Aphid Control in Seed Potatoes

This study evaluates green manures—grass-clover and fresh grass—as sustainable alternatives to straw and mineral nitrogen in seed potato cultivation. It focuses on their role in reducing aphid populations, minimizing virus transmission, and decreasing reliance on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. The research highlights nitrogen dynamics, aphid monitoring, and intercropping strategies to enhance soil health and crop protection. Findings suggest green manures can lower chemical inputs, improve biodiversity, and support sustainable potato production.
