Seed Potato Cultivation for Sustainable Arable Farming

This project at Kollumerwaard demonstrates sustainable seed potato cultivation within a resilient, low-input cropping system. It focuses on reducing chemical inputs through mechanical weed control, disease-resistant varieties, precision technology, and organic fertilisers. Soil health and biodiversity are enhanced via flower strips, strip cropping, and improved crop rotation. The initiative supports climate resilience, complies with environmental regulations, and serves as a model for circular agriculture in Dutch arable farming.
