The VALORIZZOO project is a European initiative funded under Horizon 2020, focusing on the sustainable valorisation of organic waste from livestock through biotechnological processes. It utilises insects and microorganisms to convert manure from poultry and pigs into organic fertilisers, reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers. The project demonstrates environmental benefits, including lower pollution and improved resource efficiency, with applications for farmers and agricultural stakeholders. Results from testing under UNI EN 13431-1:2014-02 standards confirm reduced environmental impact and technical feasibility. Continuous monitoring and adoption of new sustainable technologies are recommended for optimisation.
