Enhancing Soybean Growth with Bacterial Inoculation
Enhancing soybean yields through bacterial seed inoculation and sustainable nitrogen fixation practices
or
Detail description
Soybean inoculation with Rhizobium bacteria enhances nitrogen fixation, boosting yield by 15–20% and improving protein content. Recommended just before sowing, this low-cost practice (€10–20/ha) increases viability and reduces need for mineral fertilisers by 40–60% when combined with livestock manure. Re-inoculation after storage maintains effectiveness. The method involves mixing 200 g inoculant per 100 kg seeds in 500 ml water, using a concrete mixer or container, in shaded conditions. Funded by the European Union via EU-FarmBook.
