Thermal Treatment of Soybeans and Grain Legumes in Non-Ruminant Feed
Thermal treatment of soybeans and grain legumes for non-ruminant feed: technologies, nutritional impact, and practical recommendations for farmers in Slovenia
or
Detail description
This project promotes efficient use of grain legumes in non-ruminant animal feed through thermal treatment. It covers methods, technologies, and nutritional impacts of processing soybeans and other legumes for pigs and poultry. Educational materials target Slovenian farmers, detailing optimal temperature control, feed formulation, and machinery options. Findings include recommended inclusion levels of soy products and energy values of protein feeds. The project assessed extruder performance at a partner farm and improved processing outcomes. Results are compiled in the book "Zrnate stročnice v prehrani rejnih živali" and on the project website. Funded by the European Union.
