trans4num: Sustainable Nutrient Management in Agriculture

Sustainable nutrient management in agriculture through nature-based solutions and cross-continental collaboration

or

Detail description

Sustainable nutrient management in European and Chinese agriculture is addressed through the EU-funded trans4num project, which advances circular nutrient systems via field trials, nature-based solutions, and stakeholder collaboration. The project supports the EU Soil Mission through five Living Labs in Portugal, France, Spain, Italy, and Poland, engaging over 2,000 local actors in restoring soil health in permanent crops. Initiatives include phosphorus filters, plant-based fertilizers, biorefineries, and digital tools co-developed to reduce erosion, improve soil structure, and enhance biodiversity. The trans4num library provides access to videos, publications, and practice abstracts. The project fosters collaboration among farmers, researchers, policymakers, and advocates to drive systemic change through knowledge-sharing and regional NBS strategies.
